1. Introduction

Serrapeptase powder is produced by a beneficial bacterium called Serratia marcescens, which lives in the guts of silkworms. When the silkworm becomes an imago, it uses the powerful action of this enzyme to break down the cocoon so that it can escape from the cocoon.
