Red clover herb is a native plant of Europe, central Asia, and northern Africa. The flower head is the part of the plant used in herbal remedies. Scientists have identified estrogen-like substances called isoflavones and anticoagulant chemicals called coumarins in red clover herb. Red Clover is found in many herbal formulas for menopause. Red clover extract is a substance derived from the red clover plant and used as an herbal medicine.
