Lactose is a sugar that is found most notably in milk. Lactose makes up around 2–8% of milk (by weight), although the amount varies among species and individuals. It is extracted from sweet or sour whey.
Properties: White or light yellow crystalline powder , slightly sweet taste, the relative density 1.525 (water-bearing materials), soluble in water, in ethanlo, insoluble in chloroform or ether.
Storage: Typical recommendation are to storeand ship in a cool, dry environment at temperatures less than 27C and relative humidity less than 65%. Check with us for actual storage and specification requirements as we vary.
